The brief

An idea that grew

I began the process by looking at strong, bold and impactful ideas. There had to be a sense of importance and the logo had to be applied across multiple digital and physical platforms. Bold, custom type was predominant when choosing the fonts along with a colour palette reminiscent of nature.

Logo

Initial logo concepts

I sketched some initial logo concepts, playing around with the idea of progressing the ‘A’ and pushing the logo as a stand-alone icon. The idea of having an element of camping equipment within the logo was a fresh, unique twist, that no similar company had seemed to do already.

Logo

Chosen identity

The selected logo/identity really made an impact. Strong bold caps lettering was extremely ‘in your face’ and ‘wild’, smashing the clients expectations. Having a stand-alone mark from the logo was achieved also, and pushed further in to the brand.

Branding

An adventurous brand

The ‘A’ within the ‘WALK’ logo is a crucial brand element. I was able to use this as a logo mark throughout the brand, for example… ‘A is for Adventure!’, ‘A is for Awesome’. Along with the vibrant gradient and nature-like elements, the brand was instantly recognisable and unforgettable.

Project outcome

Directing this logo/branding project from start to finish was a great feeling. Walk, themselves, were very happy with the outcome.
